RDBPROD: How to reduce messages in the dispatcher log file (Doc ID 1354931.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 26, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle SQL/Services for Rdb on OpenVMS - Version 7.2 and later
HP OpenVMS Alpha
HP OpenVMS Itanium

Goal

By default, each time a client connects and disconnects a message is recorded in the dispatcher log file.

This file is normally stored in SYS$MANAGER.

If there is a lot of connection activity, this file may grow quite large.

Here is an example:

%SQLSRV-I-CONNECTNAME, Connect : CONNECT_0000001
%SQLSRV-I-CONNECTSTATE, Connect state: 4 (RUNNING_UNBOUND)

-I-   means they are only informational.
