This note is dedicated to the situations when attempting to initialize or deinitialize the audit trail cleanup (ATC) options, these are failing with these errors:
ORA-46263: The audit trail is already initialized for cleanup
for initialize operations and
ORA-46258: Cleanup not initialized for the audit trail
for deinitialize operations.
These problems tend to appear mostly when trying to initialize or deinitialize all the ATC options, using:
