CPU Applicability for ASM installation Type (Table 1 in CPU Patch readme ) And What it Means (Doc ID 1356983.1)

Note: This information is not only pertaining this version of the CPU, but is meant to clarify some of its meaning about the information from Table 1 and pertaining ASM and security CPUs.

 For the ASM installation type and Latest CPU with Security Fixes, Table 1 (Installation Types and CPU Applicability) seems to imply that for ASM in a non-TCPS environment the patch to install is CPUJul2009?


The README states that CPUs are cumulative, which means fixes from previous Oracle security alerts and critical patch updates are included. So why not just installing the CPUJul2011 instead?
