Last updated on JUNE 12, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 11.2.0.2 and later   [Release: 11.2 and later ]
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)

Goal

3 node RAC - 11202 Patch 6 (asm) - 11202 Patch 6 (db) - Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

The Application logs within the Windows event viewer contains the following information message over and over and is related to ASM.

Application Log message
The description for Event ID 34 from source Oracle.+asm1 cannot be found. Either the component that raises
this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or
repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
LENGTH: '167' ACTION :[7] 'CONNECT' DATABASE USER:[1] '/' PRIVILEGE :[6] 'SYSDBA' CLIENT USER:[19] 'NT
AUTHORITY\SYSTEM' CLIENT TERMINAL:[7] 'SWITDB1' STATUS:[1] '0' DBID:[0] ''
the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table

This message occurs on all three nodes in a 3 node RAC cluster.

There are no entries related to these in any of the Oracle logs (database alert logs, asm instance alert logs, clusterware alert logs, etc.)

This event doesn't appear to disrupt service, as it occurs almost every second on all of the nodes.

What does these messages mean and what can be done to prevent them form been logged?
