Exadata: 'alter cell snmpSubscriber' errors out with "Cell-01504: Invalid Command Syntax"

Symptoms



Trying to deploy and configure available OEM agents and plug-ins as per <Document 1110675.1>,
The step outlined in "OEM Exadata Dashboard Deployment - v1.0.4.pdf", to add multiple snmp subscribers into the 'snmpSubscriber' attribute fails.

dcli -g ~/cell_group -l root "cellcli -e alter cell snmpSubscriber=\(\(host=myhostname1, port=3872,
community=public\),\(host=myhostname2, port=162, community=public,type=ASR\)\)"
ESSPcel01: CELL-01504: Invalid command syntax.
ESSPcel02: CELL-01504: Invalid command syntax.
ESSPcel03: CELL-01504: Invalid command syntax.
ESSPcel04: CELL-01504: Invalid command syntax.
ESSPcel05: CELL-01504: Invalid command syntax.
ESSPcel06: CELL-01504: Invalid command syntax.
ESSPcel07: CELL-01504: Invalid command syntax.

Trying to  issue the command directly from CELLCLI command line also fails with the same error:

CellCLI> alter cell snmpSubscriber=((host=myhostname1,port=3872,community=public),(host=myhostname2,port=162,community=public,type=ASR))
^
CELL-01504: Invalid command syntax.
