Goal

This note provides a step by step example of setting up 11.2 Enterprise User Security (EUS) with Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11.1.1.5 with an SSL authenticated user connecting to the database from an 11.2.0.2 client machine.

It is assumed you have,

1) A working 11g OID setup with ODSM, and that OID has anonymous binds enabled.

2) An Oracle 11.2 Database which has been configured with Enterprise Manager Database Control, or as an 11g Grid Control target. The ORACLE_BASE environment variable must be set for the database.

3) An Oracle 11.2 Client machine.

4) The ability to sign SSL Certificates (either locally with a tool such as openssl, or using a Certificate Authority).
