Symptoms

Mounting a windows shared filesystem from an exadata node fails without prompting for a password:

# mount -t cifs //XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/mysharedfs -o username=oracle_exadata,workgroup=GROUP1 /mnt/mountpoint
mount: block device //XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/mysharedfs is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: cannot mount block device //XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/mysharedfs read-only
