The purpose of this bulletin is to describe and provide examples of the new pipelined and parallel PL/SQL table functions available in Oracle9i.

This document is intended to provide an introduction to pipelined, parallel table functions implemented in PL/SQL. It is not necessarily comprehensive in its treatment, though it strives to be as complete as possible. Only the native PL/SQL implementation of table functions is addressed. A brief section will be included at the end of this document to describe the differences between the native and interface approaches and explain the need for two methods, but will not provide any examples of the latter approach.

Interested readers should consult the official Oracle9i documentation for any additional information on this and related topics. See the References section below for a list of relevant documentation.
