***Checked for relevance on 04-Feb-2016***

Symptoms

Running Oracle 10gR2, 10.2.0.4 CRS/RAC on OpenVMS.

Soon after having added a 3rd node to the existing 2 node CRS/RAC cluster, instances have been evicted two separate times.

The first eviction was on node <node2> and occurred at 01:10 in the morning on 18-SEP. <node2> is one of the original two nodes.

The second crash was on node <node1> and occurred at 01:33 on 20-SEP. <node1> is one of the original two nodes.

At that time of the two evictions, the cluster nodes were very busy.

Changes

Added a third node to the existing 2 node CRS/RAC cluster.

This change altered the CPU and I/O loading across the cluster.
