RAC 11gR2 on Windows: How to Configure OCFS for Use Following Grid Infrastructure Installation (Doc ID 1370514.1)

Last updated on APRIL 26, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 11.2.0.1 and later
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)

Goal

If you do not select OCFS for Windows as the storage type for the Oracle Clusterware files, then OCFS for Windows is not configured during the Oracle Grid Infrastructure installation. Before you can use OCFS for Windows, you must first install the OCFS for Windows driver.

This note will demonstrate how to configure OCFS for Windows in cases where OCFS was not chosen as the storage type for the Oracle Clusterware files.

Note:  These steps should also be followed from the new Grid Infrastructure home upon successful out-of-place Grid Infrastructure upgrade (for example from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.3).
