Purpose
This document provides step-by-step instructions for upgrading from Oracle Database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure release 11.2.0.1 and/or 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.3 on the Oracle Exadata Database Machine for the Linux and Solaris 11 Express operating system. This document does not cover Exadata on Sparc Super Cluster (SSC). MOS Document release: 1.2

Review Database 11.2.0.3 Upgrade Prerequisites |
Sun Datacenter InfiniBand Switch 36 is running software release 1.3.3-2 or later. |
For 11.2.0.1: software has applied at a minimum bundle patches DB_BP6 and GI_BP4 in the grid home and all database homes on all database servers. |
For 11.2.0.2 software in the Grid home and all database homes on all database servers. |
Generic : |
Exadata Storage Server software is release 11.2.2.4.0 or later. |
For upgrades from 11.2.0.1: Ensure network 169.254.x.x is not currently used on database servers. |
Do not place the new ORACLE_HOME under /opt/oracle. |
Data Guard only - If there is a physical standby database associated with the databases being upgraded, then the following must be true: |
