512 M difference in flashcache size after upgrading to 11.2.2.4. Exachk reports a failure. (Doc ID 1378055.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 02, 2011

Applies to:

Oracle Exadata Storage Server Software - Version: 11.2.2.4.0 to 11.2.2.4.0 - Release: 11.2 to 11.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrading the Exadata cell to 11.2.2.4, the Flashcache size is reported as 364.75 G as instead of 365.25 G.

In earlier versions it will show:
# cellcli -e "list flashcache detail" | grep size
size: 365.25G

Now after the upgrade it is showing:
# cellcli -e "list flashcache detail" | grep size
size: 364.75G

Because of this Exachk utility also reports a failure :

"Storage Server Flash Memory is not configured as Exadata Smart Flash Cache"

Since this utility will check the flash cache size and if it is less then 365.25 G, it throws this failure message.

Changes

Upgraded to Exadata 11.2.2.4 patch.
