Last updated on FEBRUARY 16, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.0.6 to 11.1.0.7 [Release 11.1]

Oracle Database Exadata Cloud Machine - Version N/A and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Database Service - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Backup Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

1) A running rebalance operation with POWER >= 1 in a diskgroup with compatible.asm = 10.1 attribute can not be stopped with the next command:

SQL> ALTER DISKGROUP <DISKGROUP NAME> REBALANCE POWER 0.

Example:

Trying to manually stop the rebalancing process for a diskgroup with compatible.asm = 10.1 attribute with the SQL command, ALTER DISKGROUP <DG NAME> POWER 0, does not stop the rebalancing process. The rebalance process automatically switches to another node and starts rebalancing again from the start, never completing.
