Symptoms

Messages of the following form are observed in the Z/OS System Log:

BPXI040I PROCESS LIMIT MAXFILEPROC HAS REACHED 85% OF ITS CURRENT CAPACITY OF 1024 FOR PID=<pid#> IN JOB 'Net-Service-Started-Task' RUNNING IN ADDRESS SPACE nnnn



However, when displaying the Unix System Services system-wide parameters, via the 'D OMVS,OPTIONS' command, MAXFILEPROC is set to a value greater than 1024, e.g :


BPXO043I 00.02.34 DISPLAY OMVS
OMVS 000E ACTIVE OMVS=(09)
CURRENT UNIX CONFIGURATION SETTINGS:
MAXPROCSYS = 3600 MAXPROCUSER = 480
MAXFILEPROC = 12000 MAXFILESIZE = NOLIMIT
