This document will address the default disk discovery path by platform and when it is required that asm_diskstring be specifically set.
Purpose
This document is intended to clarify the default discovery path for disks by platform and to define when it is required that the asm_diskstring parameter be explicitly set.
Scope
This document is intended for DBAs or System Administrators that are configuring ASM for use by a database on any platform.
