ILOM Incorrectly Reports Failure When No Fault Exists: Error: "fault = fault.chassis.device.misconfig@/sys/sp"

Symptoms
ILOM can report to remote monitoring tools that there is a fault in the Exadata System, when none exists.
Error reported similar to: "fault = fault.chassis.device.misconfig@/sys/sp"
The absence of fault is verified by BOTH the ILOM snapshot and by the use of the SunDiag utility.
The log can generate an error similar to:

ASRU = /sys/sp
