Symptoms

A database was rebuilt from scripts, tables loaded using RMU/LOAD, and indexes recreated. During testing it was noted that the performance of a join query on two tables was poor. RMU/COLLECT was performed and query performance was restored to expected good performance. Why was RMU/COLLECT required?
