You have configured a diskgroup with compatible.rdbms set to Then you are trying to create a database using DBCA. You launched DBCA from RDBMS Home, that failed at step6 after selecting stroage type as ASM and the diskgroup you created.

The pop-up failure message is

Diskgroup <DG Name> is not compatible for database usage.
Database compatible attribute of diskgroup should be
same or lower than the database compatible
initialization parameter value.
Database compatible parameter set to ""
and the diskgroup database compatibility attribute is
set to "".

This is happening for General Purpose or Customer database options on DBCA.
