Symptoms
You receive an ORA-12057: "materialized view <mview_name> is INVALID and must complete refresh" when fast refreshing an aggregate materialized view.
This issue can manifest itself in various ways. In one case, a single mview using two mview logs (i.e. two primary tables), fast refreshed if one of the primary tables was updated, but generated an ORA-12057 if both primary tables were updated. In that particular case, one of the mview logs did not contain the SEQUENCE column as it should have.
