Errors IMP-61 IMP-15 With Traditional Import (IMP) For An Existing TYPE Even Though TOID_NOVALIDATE Has Been Set (Doc ID 1400759.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 28, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3 - Release: 10.2 to 11.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On import with traditional import (IMP), the following errors can occur when importing a TYPE that already exists:

IMP-00061: Warning: Object type "USERA"."T_VARCHAR2" already exists with a different identifier
IMP-00015: following statement failed because the object already exists:"CREATE TYPE "T_VARCHAR2" TIMESTAMP '2012-01-21:17:03:04' OID 'ABC4132AA8AFA99CE040A8C0EE3313E0'...

The error occurs even though the TOID_NOVALIDATE parameter has been set i.e. TOID_NOVALIDATE=USERA.T_VARCHAR2.

On closer examination, the full CREATE TYPE statement is:

CREATE TYPE "T_VARCHAR2" TIMESTAMP '2012-01-21:17:03:04' OID 'ABC4132AA8AFA99CE040A8C0EE3313E0' AS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(4000);
