EXP-00107: Feature (BINARY XML) Reported When Using Original Export in 11.2 (Doc ID 1401358.1)

XMLType is an abstract data type, so it is straightforward to create an XMLType table or column. The basic CREATE TABLE statement, specifying no storage options and no XML schema, stores XMLType data as binary XML.

The XMLType storage model for XML schema-based data is whatever was specified during registration of the referenced XML schema. If no storage model was specified during registration, then binary XML storage is used.

When exporting such object with original Export utility the following errors will be reported:

EXP-00107: Feature (BINARY XML) is reported when the following object types are exported:
  • Tables of XMLType
  • Tables with an XMLType Column


EXP-00112: and EXP-00078: are reported additionally, when exporting:
  • Tables with an XMLType column which is using a xmlindex

The following test case will illustrate this in more detail:
