ORA-600 [4882] Hit on ALTER TABLE <table_name> MODIFY LOB (Doc ID 1406283.1)

 Alter table clause that includes lob data modifiable attributes (ex: compress , encrypt) as well as space layer attributes (ex: RETENTION) may result in ORA-600[4882].

The example below shows how problem can get reproduced:
SQL> connect scott/tiger

SQL> alter system set "_enable_spacebg"=FALSE;
System altered.

SQL> drop table t purge;
drop table t purge
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

SQL> create table t(id number, c clob) lob(c) store as securefile t_lob
2 (disable storage in row) tablespace sysaux;

Table created.

SQL> begin
for i in 1..100 loop
insert into t values (i, rpad('a',1000));
end loop;
/ 2 3 4 5 6 7

PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

SQL> alter table t modify lob(c) (nocompress keep_duplicates encrypt cache reads logging retention max);
alter table t modify lob(c) (nocompress keep_duplicates encrypt cache reads logging retention max)
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
