How to completely remove 11.2 and 12.1 Grid Infrastructure, CRS and/or Oracle Restart - IBM: Linux on System z

How to deconfigure and remove all traces of an 18.104.22.168 (or later) Grid Infrastructure Oracle Home which is running either CRS or Single Instance (Oracle Restart) software, including removal of the central oraInventory and temporary files.
This will allow successful reinstallation of the same software into the existing Grid Home and oraInventory.
Please be aware that you should not follow these steps if you have other Oracle Homes installed and running on the server. These steps include deletion of the central Inventory and removal of temp files created when oracle is running.
The standalone deinstall tool can also be used to remove GI installations.
In the example below, we have a Grid Home set to /u01/grid
