DB CRASH WITH SIGSEGV KGEGEC/KGE_IS_OSERR ERRORS REPORTED IN ALERT LOG (Doc ID 1413822.1)

Symptoms

The following symptoms have been attributed to this issue :-

a) Alert log reports a crash similar to :-

Exception [type: SIGSEGV, Address not mapped to object] [ADDR:0xFFFFFFFF00000008] [PC:0x4000000006064DE0, kgegec()+96] [flags: 0x0, count: 1]
Exception [type: SIGSEGV, Address not mapped to object] [ADDR:0xFFFFFFFF00000008] [PC:0x40000000055EC1A0, kge_is_oserr()+192] [flags: 0x2, count: 2]
Mon Jan 09 08:03:11 2012
PMON (ospid: 6434): terminating the instance due to error 474

Note that these errors are not reported as ORA-600/ORA-07445 internal errors
