This document details step by step instructions to upgrade Audit Vault Server from 10.2.3.2.x to 10.3.

|1. Back up the AV repository database and the AV Server Oracle Home|
|1.1 Backing up the AV repository database using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)|

|2. Set the environment variables for the Oracle Audit Vault Server Release 10.2.3.2.7 installation.|
|3. Disable Database Vault in the Oracle Audit Vault Server 10.2.3.2 environment|
|4. Make sure that a password file exists in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs and that you can connect remotely as SYSDBA|
|5. Drop the Enterprise Manager Database Control repository and remove its configuration files|
|6. Install Oracle Audit Vault Server 10.3 in Software Only mode|
|7. Disable Oracle Database Vault in the newly installed Oracle Home.|
|8. Set the environment variables for the Oracle Audit Vault Server Release 10.3 installation.|
|9. Make sure that in the new Oracle Home there is a file listener.ora that will have the same contents as the listener.ora file of the old 10.2.3.2 environment.|
|10. Start the listener from the new Oracle Home|
|11. Run Database Upgrade Assistant (DBUA) manually by using the same SID as your 10.2.3.2.7 installation.|
|12. Run the AVCA upgrade script to upgrade Audit Vault, as follows:|
