Symptoms
Deadlock detection may not occur for a lock, resulting in hanging processes.
Processes may be seen in a deadlock using $RMU/SHOW STATISTICS (or $DBO/SHOW STATISTICS) in the STALL MESSAGES screen, or using $RMU/SHOW LOCK/MODE=BLOCK (or $DBO/SHOW LOCK/MODE=BLOCK). The deadlock is undetected by the Distributed Lock Manager.
Stopping one of the processes is usually required to resolve the deadlock.
