The document is intended to help customer understand how they can troubleshoot ORA-04031 themselves and what are the basic approach needed to understand the issue and solve them.

 Collect all the Diagnostic Information needed for troubleshooting
 Step 1 : Identify the trace file ( both normal and incident ) that has been generated during the time of the error ORA-04031
 Step 2 : Identify the memory chunk where the issue is reported.
 Step 3 : Identify the failure size for which the ORA-04031 was reported.
 Step 4 : Identify the number of the subpool .
 Step 5 : Find the chunk that has over grown under the subpool.
 Steps 6 : get the LIBRARY CACHE STATISTICS information :
 Some Basic Action that can be taken based on the above diagnostic information collected
