DG4DRDA Query Using Trim Function Results in ORA-28500 Error - Statement Too Long or Too Complex (Doc ID 1433523.1)

After upgrading Database Gateway for DRDA (DG4DRDA) from version to on an AIX 64 bit platform the TRIM function which used to work in now fails with the following error -

[Oracle][ODBC DB2 Wire Protocol driver][UDB DB2 for iSeries and AS/400]STATEMENT TOO LONG OR TOO COMPLEX. 3 {HY000,NativeErr = -101}
