Protocol Violation Message In SQL Developer Worksheet when using with an Oracle Gateway (DG4ODBC, DG4MSQL, DG4SYBS, DG4DRDA) (Doc ID 1434413.1)

Symptoms


When selecting with SQL Developer and an Oracle Gateway like Database Gateway for ODBC (=DG4ODBC), Database Gateway for MS SQL Server (=DG4MSQL), Database Gateway for Sybase (=DG4SYBS) or Database Gateway for DRDA (=DG4DRDA) from a remote foreign database table SQL Developer 3.1 fails with error:
Error: Protocol violation
SQLState: 99999
ErrorCode: 17401

Testing the same select in SQL*Plus is working fine.

Updating SQL developer from 3.0 to 3.1
