Why Are My Listener Logs & Traces Not Purged By The ADR? (Doc ID 1438242.1)

Goal

To clarify this behaviour:

Executing a purge -age <age> command from ADRCI, in the listener home, and then a show alert command we can sometimes see information older than the indicated <age>.  At other times the purge seems to be working fine and removing all the information older than the indicated age.

Checking the listener log and trace file directories, a large build up of files is observed, e.g.:

So why are these not getting purged from the system by the ADR in the same way as the database alert log and trace files?
