Last updated on MARCH 09, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version to [Release 11.2]
Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Exadata Cloud Machine - Version N/A and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Database Service - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Backup Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Rman backup scheduled on 11g on RAC database.
The back gets triggered from any node and we have no control over it.

The problem is whenever the backup is triggered and runs successfully from any node different from Node 1, the OUTPUT_DEVICE_TYPE column doesn't get updated in v$rman_status  view giving us a false information.
