Symptoms

When using Sql Server 2008 and MSDTC with the Oracle Provider for OLE DB the following error resulted:

Error Number: 7391.

Error Procedure: usp_transfer_ipacs_dlns.

Error Line: 42. Error Message: The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "EDR_IPACS_DEV" was unable to begin a distributed transaction.
