DBCA Errors with ORA-02249 When Creating Single-instance Database On Exadata (Doc ID 1456161.1)

Symptoms

When trying to create a single-instance database on one of the database nodes on Exadata system following error is reported by DBCA:

ORA-02249 - missing or invalid value for MAXLOGMEMBERS.

A RAC database can be created successfully.
Steps followed to create the single instance database are as follows:

1) Start DBCA
2) Select Create Single Instance DB
3) Select the dbmDatabaseTemplate
4) Provide the required values to create the database
5) database creation fails with ORA-02249 - missing or invalid value for MAXLOGMEMBERS

3) Select OLTP database, 2x2
4) Provide the required values to create the database
5) database creation fails with ORA-02249 - missing or invalid value for MAXLOGMEMBERS
