Symptoms
Starting an instance in UPGRADE mode to perform a manual upgrade (using the steps outlined in Document 837570.1) results in:
ORA-48178: error encountered while reading an ADR block file during ADR initialization [<diagnostic_dest>/diag/rdbms/<dbname>/<instname>/metadata/ADR_INTERNAL.mif]
ORA-48122: error with opening the ADR block file [<diagnostic_dest>/diag/rdbms/<dbname>/<instname>/metadata/ADR_INTERNAL.mif] [0]
ORA-27040: file create error, unable to create file
Linux-x86_64 Error: 22: Invalid argument
