Symptoms
Running Oracle on OpenVMS
During normal operations (like startup, shutdown, backup, restore, create tablespace, add datafile, RMAN Backup) one or more of the following errors are being encounterd:
ORA-01119: error in creating database file '<filename>'
ORA-27040: file create error, unable to create file
HP IPF VMS Error: 5: i/o error
ORA-01116: error in opening database file nnn
ORA-01110: data file nnn: '<filename>'
ORA-27041: unable to open file
