SES with SSO does not Send the User to the Requested Page After Logging in (Doc ID 1464103.1)

Last updated on APRIL 17, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Enterprise Search - Version 11.1.2.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Under the scenario that the SES is associated with SSO, after users successfully login to SSO server,  it is expected to return to the SES previous request, for example:

   http://hostname:port/search/query/search?q=test

It means that the original request searching the "test" keyword, as an expected result, the returned url from SSO should redirect to the search result in SES for the keyword "test", unfortunately, the returned requests are always back to the SES basic search page, and the URL are always:

  http://hostname:port/search/query/search?view=basic

In addition, after sign in the SSO successfully, even though the returned URL is not pointing to the original request such as query search, if the query is requested again after returned from SSO, it will give the proper result as expected. In other words, the problem is just right on the SSO login return, but will not affect any search or access after return, the problem is related to the SSO return event rather than the regular accessing after login.
