High Memory Usage By Encryption Processes (TDE) Consuming Swap Space Reducing Free Memory Drastically
Last updated on JUNE 05, 2012
Applies to:Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version 18.104.22.168 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
You have recently from Oracle 9.2 without Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) to Oracle 22.214.171.124 with TDE.
You have notice that from this TDE implementation, the processes memory grow and grow in the heap.
There is no memory increase is noted at database level, the v$process shows normal PGA allocation for the processes.
However, the swap space is continually being consumed until the point where the server will crash.
- Migration from 9i to 11gR2.
- Moved from non-TDE to TDE.
