Upgrade From 10g To 11g Results In ORA-07445 [kksfft()] And ORA-01821 (Doc ID 1468016.1)

While running catupgrd.sql during the upgrade of the database from 10g to 11g , the error message ( below ) are encountered.

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [kksfft()+172] [SIGSEGV] [ADDR:0x3DE0B47D6] [PC:0x1053EE0AC] [Address not mapped to object] []
ORA-01821: date format not recognized


Trace file indicates that oracle is having trouble in creating the scheduler jobs.
