Symptoms

When it comes to filter an xml file, in this specific case an empty file is considered, the AUTO_FILTER is far slower than the NULL_FILTER.

-- AUTO FILTER

set timing on
declare
l_bfile bfile;
l_clob CLOB;
begin
ctx_output.start_query_log('log01.log');
l_bfile := BFILENAME('DOCDIR','test.xml');
dbms_lob.fileopen(l_bfile);
ctx_doc.policy_filter('baruch_policy', l_bfile, l_clob, TRUE);
dbms_output.put_line(l_clob);
ctx_output.end_query_log;
end;
