Symptoms

GI 11.2.0.3 installation on Linux x86_64bit errors PRVF-5150 is giving a warning saying path is not a valid path. However the disks are visible

[<USER>@<HOSTNAME> ~]$ ll /dev/oracleasm/disks/*.

[<USER>@<HOSTNAME> ~]$ ll /dev/oracleasm/disks/<ASMDISK6>
brw-rw---- 1 grid asmadmin 253, 7 May 18 10:07 /dev/oracleasm/disks/<ASMDISK6>

 
[<USER>@<HOSTNAME> ~]$  cluvfy stage -pre crsinst -n <HOSTNAME> -asm -asmdev /dev/oracleasm/disks/<ASMDISK6> -verbose

Checking Devices for ASM...

ERROR:  /dev/oracleasm/disks/<ASMDISK6>

Could not find the storage

Checking for shared devices...

PRVF-5150 : Path /dev/oracleasm/disks/<ASMDISK6> is not a valid path on all nodes

ASM device passes all checks mentioned in note 1210863.1
