This Support Note is an ongoing collection of best practices which have been identified for TimesTen operating in an Exalytics environment. TimesTen operations on Exalytics are a departure from TimesTen's traditional role as a very fast OLTP engine: instead TimesTen is being used to support analytic applications. The nature of transactions and queries differs from traditional TimesTen applications, and Exalytics data stores are usually much larger than traditional TimesTen data stores. For all these reasons, we believe it worthwhile to develop a set of recommended best practices specifically for TimesTen running on Analytics.
Note that many of the recommendations made in this Note apply generically to very large TimesTen data stores as well as those specifically enabled on Exalytics.
