SLES 11 SP2

Symptoms

On SLES 11 SP2 when running root.sh as part of a Grid Infrastructure Installation for either Single Instance (Oracle Restart) or Cluster (CRS) ohasd fails to start.

On SLES 11 SP1 with exactly the same configuration - ohasd starts successfully when root.sh is run.

error messages similar to:

 

(From a CRS Failing Installation)

Adding Clusterware entries to inittab
ohasd failed to start
Failed to start the Clusterware. Last 20 lines of the alert log follow:
