Installing Oracle Workspace Manager in Data Guard environment (Doc ID 1480061.1)

Last updated on APRIL 01, 2020

Applies to:

Workspace Manager - Version 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.3 [Release 11.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This is a Data Guard environment and after running the Oracle Workspace Manager install file, owminst.plb, WMSYS schema was successfully installed on primary database.

There are no invalid objects:

SQL> select count(*) from dba_objects where status = 'INVALID';

 COUNT(*)
----------
  0

And the component is installed and valid:

SQL> select comp_id, version, status from dba_server_registry order by comp_id;

COMP_ID VERSION STATUS
------------------------------ ------------------------------ -----------
CATALOG 11.2.0.2.0 VALID
CATPROC 11.2.0.2.0 VALID
OWM 11.2.0.2.0 VALID

Since this is a Data Guard environment and the owminst.plb is a PL/SQL script, we only need to run this on our primary database and the physical standby database should be installed since archived log will be shipped to standby server and applied on the standby database, is that correct?
