Poor query performance via ODP.NET when binding DbType.DateTime to a DATE column.

Applies to:Oracle Data Provider for .NET - Version 10.2.0.2.20 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
A query using a bind variable for DATE datatype in a WHERE clause may behave poorly when issued via ODP.NET, whereas issuing the same query with a literal rather than a bind variable results in very fast execution.
The beahvior cannot be reproduced (or tested) via SQLPlus, as SQLPlus does not allow the use of DATE bind variables.
