Symptoms

2 node RAC - 11202 - Linux x86-64

Notice: Additional heapdumps and library cache dumps were necessary in order to isolate the issue for this article.
Therefore, it may be required the problem to reproduce more than once before it may be determined to be a match to this note/article.


After migration from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2 the database instance's reports "IPC Send timeout detected and "PMON failed to acquire latch" error before its ASMB process crashed the instance:
