Whole Numbers Inserted As Floating Point Numbers Using PowerBuilder And Oracle ODBC Driver
Last updated on JULY 05, 2017
Applies to:Oracle ODBC Driver - Version 10.2.0.1 and later
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)
When using Sybase's PowerBuilder 8.0.1 Build 8004 software to insert the number 87 into a column in the Oracle Database with a datatype of NUMBER, you review your inserted number from SQL*Plus and see that the number stored was 86.9999999 instead of 87.
The issue has occurred with both the 10.2.0.1 and 22.214.171.124 versions of the Oracle ODBC Driver.
