TTBackup C API failing with TT799 : Unable to connect to daemon; check daemon status (Doc ID 1495486.1)

Symptoms

Following error is observed when running program invoking ttbackup C API  in TT 11.2.1.x or in 11.2.2.x

./ttBackupCAPI
dsn=TT_1122
connectString:DSN=TT_1122
retCode:799 , retType:1 , errMsg=Unable to connect to daemon; check daemon status

Code snippet

The normal backup is running fine

$ ttBackup -type fileFull -dir <DIRPATH> -fname back TT_1122
Backup started ...
Backup complete
