(Doc ID 1497140.1)
Last updated on JUNE 21, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Text - Version 10.1.0.4 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
We use Oracle Text CONTEXT index and it is important to have TRANSACTIONAL search enabled.
However turning on the "TRANSACTIONAL" option can cause significant performance degradation in all DMLs performed on the base table.
According to traces we've collected, there is significant amount of IO wasted on queries that were prepared recursively as result of the UPDATE .
Are there any know performance issues with this option? Are the any know best practices how to bypass these problems?
