TimesTen Performance For Bulk Deletes On Tables Containing Out Of Line Columns May Cause TT6003 Timeouts Make The System Appear To Be Hung (Doc ID 1500256.1)

Last updated on JUNE 05, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database - Version 7.0.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Bulk deletes performed on tables containing large variable length (varchar2, varbinary, etc.) columns stored non-inline
may cause blocks on other operations against that table. These blocks may be quite lengthy: waits of up to 5 minutes
have been reported. It is possible that the entire application will appear hung, although the "hang" eventually clears.

If the bulk deletes occur on tables being replicated between nodes, the Replication Agent may report TT6003 timeouts.
