DISM Is not Working As Expected in 11.1.0.7 under Solaris 10 (Doc ID 1500293.1)

Last updated on JULY 16, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.2.0 [Release 11.1 to 11.2]
Sun SPARC Sun OS

Symptoms

The described behavior In Note 552633.1 may not always work in solaris 10 with 11.1.0.7 ,

From Tests done in-house , it seems that Solaris 10 is consistently using DISM (with 11.1.0.7) , with whatever Oracle Memory parameters is used ,

While on Solaris 9 (with 11.1.0.7 or 11.2) , it is using the documented behaviour for using either ISM or DISM .

Changes

Test 1 : 11.2 on Solaris 9

SGA_MAX_SIZE = SGA_TARGET ----> ISM
